Norfolk Virginian Pilot Saturday September 10, 1949
Livy Talmadge West, 57, died yesterday at 5:20 p.m. at his residence, 909 
Ellwood Street, Campostella, after an illness of six months.  He was employed as 
a helper at the Ford Plant.
A native of Ivor, he had lived in this section for 23 years.  His late parents 
were George W. and Mrs. Lou Gay West.  He was a member of the Campostella 
Heights Baptist Church. 
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Regina Duke West; one daughter, Mrs. L.F. Hurst, of 
Norfolk; one son, Staff Sgt. Ray E. West, USA; four sisters, Mrs. P.M. Falford, 
of Ivor, Mrs. I.D. Drewry and Mrs. A.E. Drewry, both of Zuni and Mrs. E.P. Lowe 
of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home Berkley.

Livy T. West - Funeral services for Mr. West, who died Friday, were conducted at 
the Campostella Heights Baptist Church yesterday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. James 
Agnew and the Rev. E.G. Sandridge.  Pallbearers were J.A. Holland, J.A. Duke, 
J.S. Carr, A.J. Holt, E.V. Brown, W.E. Duke, J.S. Wilson and H.J. Duke.  Burial 
was in Riverside Memorial Park.
