The Virginian Pilot Saturday September 12, 1953
Ernest J. West, 88, son of the late John T. and Mrs. Olivia Daughtrey West, 
died at the residence of his niece, Mrs. W. I. Foster, at London Bridge, 
Princess Anne County, yesterday at 3 p.m.

He is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Jean Shields and Miss Frances R. West, 
both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Olivia West Foster, of London Bridge, and three 
nephews, P.B. West, of Norfolk; E.H. West of Philadelphia, and John T. West of 
Bremerton, Wash. Mr. West was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, and was a charter 
member and deacon of Berkley Avenue Baptist Church.

The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Berkley Avenue 
Baptist Church for funeral services tomorrow at 2 p.m. The body will lie in 
state an hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
