Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, April 17, 1994 
Eddie ``West'' West Sr., 69, of the 300 block of W. 37th St., died April 14,
1994, in Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. West was born in Selma, Alabama. He retired 15 years ago after 30 years of
service. He was the son of the late Mariah West and Alex West and the widower of
Emma D. West

Survivors include daughters Eddie Mae West, Linda Patterson, Johnnette West,
Darlene West, all of Boston, Mass., Virginia D. Dixon of Alexandria, Va., and
Sonya West, daughter-in-law of Newark, N.J.; two sons, Eddie West Jr. of Newark,
N.J., and John Lee West of Boston, Mass.; four brothers, Phillip West of
Norfolk, Tommie West of Portsmouth, and Melvin West and Robert West of Atlanta,
Ga.; 16 grandchildren; and numerous friends and acquaintances.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at New Calvary Baptist Church, 800
E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, by the Rev. Gilbert Campbell. Burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery . Mr. Eddie West Sr., was a very hard working, family man.
He was truly loved and will be greatly missed. A wake will be held from 7 to 8
p.m. Monday, April 18, 1994. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
April 19, 1994. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
