Virginian Pilot Wednesday June 14,1899




The funeral of this young man, whose sad death from drowning occurred while 
swimming in the river at Lambert's Point Saturday night, and whose body, after 
being recovered, was taken to the undertaking establishment of Mr. H.C. Smith, 
on Bank street, to be prepared for burial, was held from the grave in Elmwood 
Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. yesterday. The services were conducted by Rev. John H. 
Dickinson, of Emmanual Episcopal Chapel. Following were the pall-bearers: 
Messrs. William Staylor, Charles Summers, Henry J. White, W.S. White, Noah 
Johnson and Richard Rolland.
