Norfolk Virginian Pilot August 21, 1947

Mrs. Mary Ann Whalen,75, wife of John J. Whalen, Sr., a native of Ireland and 
resident of Norfolk for 40 years, died at her residence, 608 West Twenty-sixth 
Street, yesterday at 8:15 p.m. Besides her husband, she is survived by two 
daughters, Miss Florence Whalen and Mrs. Roland J. Seiberlich; three sons, James 
Whalen, John J. Whalen, Jr. and Eddie Whalen, all of Norfolk and five 
grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H.D. Oliver  Funeral Apartments 
tomorrow, Friday, at 7:30 p.m.
