Oliver Whaley, 44, of 611 Goff street, who died in a local hospital Jan. 2 was 
given funeral rites Sunday at Citizens Funeral Home.

The Rev. L. E. Willis officiated.  Interment was in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

A native of Bellhaven, Mr. Whaley was the son of Charlie Whaley Sr. and Mrs. 
Margaret Whaley.  He lived in Norfolk 25 years and was a member of Mt. Calvary 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Whaley;  his mother, a son, Oliver Whaley 
Jr., of New York;  a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Rogers of Baltimore;  a sister, Mrs. 
Irene Bailey of Belhaven;  and a brother, Charlie Young of Norfolk.
