Mrs. Sophia Wharf of 305 Outlaw street, Crestwood, Norfolk county, died 
Wednesday, Jan. 11, in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness.  She was buried 
Sunday in Mt. Olive Cemetery,Berkley.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Money Point, where 
she held membership.  The Rev. E. L. Proctor officiated.  Wheeler Funeral Home 
of Campostella handled the arrangements.

Mrs. Mildred Lewis made acknowledgement of the expressions of sympathy and read 
the family obituary.  Mrs. Alma Silver sang a solo.  Rev. Mr. Proctor delivered 
the eulogy.

A native of Edenton, NC, Mrs. Wharf was the daughter of the late William and 
Mrs. Sophia Jenkins, and was the widow of Henry Wharf.  She lived in the county 
40 years.  One daughter, Mrs. Irma Kearney of Crestwood, survives.
