NORFOLK — Mary Frances Wheeler, 76, of 3757 Dare Circle, a native of Alexandria, 
died Thursday in a hospital.
Mrs. Wheeler was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer P. Wheeler Sr.; a daughter, Mary R. Bowden 
of Norfolk; four sons, Elmer P. Wheeler Jr. and Stephen R. Wheeler, both of 
Norfolk, and Joseph L. Wheeler and Edward B. Wheeler, both of Virginia Beach; 
two sisters, Catherine Jennings of Chesapeake and Margaret Adams of Norfolk; 20 
grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church. 
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The family will be at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 7 to 
9 p.m. today. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
