Anne R. Wheeler, 80, passed away July 11, 2000, at her residence. A native of New 
York City, Anne was an area resident for many years. She was a member of Holy 
Spirit Catholic Church, where she and her beloved deceased husband, Alfred C. 
Wheeler, were very active in pastoral care ministry.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Algus Battaglia and her husband, Jim, of 
Virginia Beach; her son, Al Mark Wheeler and his wife, Lisa, of Colorado; two 
brothers, John ``Sonny'' Rossi of New York and Frank Rossi of New Jersey; a 
sister, Madeline De Pierro of New Jersey; and three grandchildren, Michael, Al and 
Martha.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Msgr. Thomas J. Caroluzza at 7 
p.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy., Virginia 
Beach, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to services. 
Entombment will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Norfolk.

Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Holy Spirit Parish or to 
the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Ave., Norfolk, VA 23513. Kellum Funeral 
Home, Bonney Road Chapel, is in charge.A Mass of the Resurrection will be
