Virginian-Pilot  January 15, 1941
Mrs. Annie Marie Whiley, aged 78, widow of Henry James Whiley and daughter of 
Michael and Mrs. Mary Benson Hickey, a native of Limerick, Ireland, and a resident 
of Norfolk 53 years, died at 4:40 o’clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. 
She resided at 1716 Park View avenue, Ocean View. Surviving her are four 
daughters, Mrs. A. W. Tada, Mrs. Catherine White, Mrs. R A. Stamper and Mrs. J. B. 
Simmons; three sons, H. J., W. A. and L. G. Whiley, all of Norfolk; one niece, 
Mrs. Elizabeth Cherry, of Norfolk; a nephew, Michael J Stubbs, of San Diego, 
Calif; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
avenue, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for services tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. 
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
