Mrs. Rosa Odom Whitaker, 79, of 735 Park avenue, was given final rites Friday at 
First Calvary Chapel, of which she was a member.  She died Oct. 2 in a Norfolk 
hospital.

The Rev. W. E. Keeling officiated at the service for Mrs. Whitaker.  Burial was 
in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Morning glory Funeral Home.

A native of Norfolk, Mrs. Whitaker is survived by four sons, Moses F. Whitaker 
of Flushing, NY;  John Whitaker of Philadelphia, Clarence M. Whitaker of Norfolk 
and the Rev. H. Edward Whitaker of Niagara Falls;  a daughter, Mrs. Bessie W. 
Miller of Norfolk;  two brothers, Thomas Odom of Norfolk and Joseph G. Odom of 
New Jersey;  a sister, Mrs. Eva Odom Henley of Norfolk;  eight grandchildren and 
five great grandchildren.
