White, 88, of 2820 Somme Ave., a native of Lynchburg and the widow of LeRoy F. White, died Wednesday in a hospital. She had retired as a fiscal-accounting clerk at Norfolk Naval Station. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. During World War I, she served as a Navy yeomanette. Survivors include three daughters, Mary W. Bounds and Jean W. Hendricks, both of Norfolk, and Ann W. Hanson of Hampton; three sisters, Ruth Lee of Virginia Beach, Louise Brimmer of Norfolk and Virginia Hamilton of Richmond; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church by the Rev. Joseph D’Aurora. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A rosary and Christian wake service will be held at 4 p.m. today in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. today.
