White, died Friday in a hospital. He was a 37-year employee of Norshipco and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and its Men’s Club. He also was a member of Council 387, Knights of Columbus. Other survivors include six daughters, Sister Helen Michael White of Athens, Ga., Sister Maureen White of Florence, S.C., Jessie Gayne, Jean Partain, and Margaret White and Rosemary Capys, both of Norfolk; a son, Thomas W. White Jr. of Virginia Beach, five sisters, Lydia W. Staples, Margaret W. Bulifant, Miriam W. Sellers and Adelaide W. Bishop, all of Norfolk, and Mary W. Kraft of Louisville, Ky.; three brothers, John B. White of San Pedro, Calif., and James R. White and Edward T. White, both of Norfolk; and 13 grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev. Ronald Ruth. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be said at 7 p.m. today in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk. Memorial contributions may be made to the Frances C. Toner Scholarship Fund of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
