The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark Tuesday June 25, 1935
Edgar L. White, aged 67 years, husband of Lizzie Hudgins White and son of 
the late William J. and Elizabeth Pargoe White, died yesterday afternoon at 
4:05 o'clock at the residence, 5-B Johnson Court Apartments, 216 West 
Thirtieth street.  Mr. White was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk 
and was formerly engaged in the real estate business.  He was a member of 
Ghent M.E. Church, and of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B.P.O. Elks.  Besides his 
wife, Mrs. Lizzie Hudgins White, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. 
Ralph Drewery; one son, Edgar L. White, Jr.; one grandson, Edgar L. White, 
3d, and a brother, William P. White, all of Norfolk.  Services will be held 
at H.D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, No. 610-612 East Freemason street, 
Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with the Rev. John W. Rustin, pastor of 
Ghent M.E. Church, and the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., pastor of Freemason 
Street Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  
Friends are requested by the family to kindly omit flowers.
