Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday December 15, 1946
Ransone Boswell White, 80, a native and lifelong resident of Gloucester 
County, died at a local hospital yesterday at 8:55 a.m. after a long 
illness.  He was the son of the late John Richard and Julia Degge White, and 
a member of the Singleton Methodist Church, Gloucester.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Susan Brushwood White; three sons, R.H. of 
Norfolk County; Herbert R. of Gloucester and J.R. White of Norfolk; two 
daughters, Mrs. A.M. Smith and Mrs. Wendell Odell, both of Norfolk; two 
sisters, Miss Rosa F. White and Mrs. A.B. McPherson, of Washington, D.C.; 
five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted in the James V. Derry Funeral Chapel 
Monday at noon.  Dr. E. Ruffin Jones, rector of St. Andrews Episcopal 
Church, will officiate.  Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
