Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 18, 1916

Mrs. Mary E. White, wife of William H. White, died at 5 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon, at the residence, 107 Second Street, Riverside, after a lingering 
illness, in the fifty-ninth year of her age. She was a native of Norfolk and was 
well known and highly esteemed. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. 
Besides her husband, Mrs. White is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J.D. Wood, 
Mrs. T.W. Dowdy, Mrs. R.D. Gordon, Miss Lillian White, all of Norfolk, five 
sons, H.J., W.S., J.L., A.F. White, all of Norfolk and J.T. White of Baltimore; 
one sister, Mrs. T.F. Dalton and 11 grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 
the residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning.
