Virginian Pilot October 17, 1970 

 Mrs. Helen Z. White, 59, of 1024 W. 42nd St. died Friday.
A native of Norfolk, she was the wife of Carl Shelburn White and a daughter of 
the late Joseph G. Zoby Sr. and Mrs. Annie Kayatt Zoby.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel and Salvation Army.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, C.S. White Jr. and A.D. White 
of Norfolk; six daughters, Mrs. Shirley W. Furmanick of Berlin, Mass., Mrs. 
Betty W. Jerome, Mrs. Joann W. Shearin, Mrs. Sandra W. Pendleton and Miss Judith 
M. White of Norfolk and Mrs. Mary W. Morris of Virginia Beach; four brothers, 
Ernest G. Zoby, William A Zoby George M. Zoby and Joseph G. Zoby Jr. of Norfolk; 
a sister, Mrs. Birdie Ackaway of Norfolk; 20 grandchildren; and a great-
grandchild.
The Rosary will be said in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 7 pm. 
Requiem Mass will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Chapel Monday at 
10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery

WHITE, HELEN Z. — At a local hospital, Friday, October 16, 1970, Mrs. Helen Z. 
White, wife of Carl Shelburn White and daughter of the late Joseph G. and Mrs. 
Annie Kayatt Zoby, in the 60th year of her age. A Requiem Mass will be 
celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Monday (today) at 10 o’clock. Burial 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends of the family are invited to attend.
