Samuel L. White, 72, an employee of the Ferebee Construction Company for 30 
years, was given final rites on Monday at Antioch Baptist Church.  The pastor, 
the Rev. J. W. Matthews, officiated.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of the Graves Funeral Home.

Mr. White died Friday at his home at 227 Hardy avenue.  He was a native of 
Hertford, NC, and the son of the late Charles E. White and Mrs. Elizabeth White.  
He lived in Norfolk 50 years, and held membership in Antioch.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Snowden and Mrs. Mamie Harrison of 
Norfolk;  a sister, Mrs. Lillian Tyler of Washington;  two grandsons, Bernard 
Harrison and David Wallace of Norfolk;  five granddaughters and five great 
grandchildren.
