Norfolk Journal and Guide, Dec 16,1961
James A. White, 74, of 602 E. Berkley avenue, who died in a local hospital Dec. 
4, was given final rites Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church.

The Rev. J. W. Matthews officiated at the service.  Burial was in Mt. Olive 
Cemetery with Fitchett Funeral Home handling arrangements.

A native of Surry County, Mr. White is survived by two sons, Oscar White and the 
Rev. Carl White;  a daughter, Mrs. Beulah Fields;  a sister, Mrs. Blanche 
Cherry;  two brothers, Carey White and Rochell White;  14 grandchildren and nine 
great grandchildren.
