The Virginian Pilot Sunday February 10, 1963
Cmdr. Lewis Southall White, USN retired, of 725 Yarmouth St. died at 1:15 a.m. 
Saturday in Portsmouth Naval Hospital.
A son of Ira B. and Mrs. Nettie Southall White, he was lifelong resident of 
Norfolk.
He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, Norfolk Elks Lodge 38; Knights of 
Pythias and the "Quiet Birdmen."
Surviving are a son, Lewis S. White Jr. of Norfolk; a daughter, Mrs. C.R. 
McGeehan of Springfield; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy W. Wilson and a brother, Ira B. 
White, both of Norfolk and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Tuesday at 2 
p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
