NORFOLK - Alice D. White of the 900 block of E. Princess Anne Road, died January 11,
2011 in Norfolk Health Care. 

A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of George T. White and had been a member of
St. John AME Church. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star,
Chapter 82, past Elected Imperial Commandress of the Daughters of Isis, past matron
of the Golden Circle, past matron of the Syreen and a member of the Herons of
Jericho. 

The family wishes to thank all who took care of Mrs. White during her long illness.


Survivors include two daughters, Susan W. Lewis and Kathleen Reid; adopted
daughters, Susie Parker and Shirley Bullock; two sisters, Bernice Goode and Johnnie
Mae Seabron; two grandchildren, Paul Lewis II and Angel M. Parker; three
great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at St. John AME Church with the
Rev. John Burton. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home,
Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The remains will be ready for viewing from 3:30 to 8
p.m. Sunday. The family will assemble at noon at the funeral home for the
procession.
