Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, April 23, 1996 
Maggie L. White ended life's journey on earth and went home to be with her
father April 20, 1996.

She was a native of Deans, Va., and the widow of Donnie White. She was a member
of First Calvary Baptist Church for 68 years. She served on the Pastor Aides,
Senior Missionary, Maggie Davis Sunday school class and early morning services.
She was also a member of Wednesday's Prayer Band at Hunter's Square.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Donnie W. Chavis. She is survived by two
daughters, Mabel W. Fields and Beatrice W. Baucham; a son, Columbus L. White,
all of Norfolk; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 19
great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; a
son-in-law; a sister-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at First Calvary Baptist Church Wednesday at 1
p.m. by Dr. Johnnie L. White. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Hale Funeral
Home is in charge. The family will be at 304 West 37th St. The body will be
placed in church at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
