East Orange, NJ - Mrs. Ida Barrett White, widow of Leart White, died Thursday,
March 17, in an Orange hospital.

A native of Portsmouth, VA, she was the daughter of Isham Barrett and Rosa
Harris Barrett.  She was a member of the choir and several organizations of St.
Matthews AME Church for  more than 50 years.

A funeral service was held March 22 at St. Matthews.  The body arrived in
Norfolk Wednesday for burial in Calvary Cemetery.  The Rev. W. L. Hildebrand
committed the body.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Annette B. Drew of Norfolk and Mrs. Bessie B.
Hill of New Rochelle, NY;  three nieces and a nephew.
