Virginian-Pilot, December 21, 1910
Samuel White, a member of the Norfolk Fire Department, died at his home, 115 
Fenchurch Street, at 11:45 a.m. yesterday after a lingering illness, aged 40 
years. The deceased was held in high esteem by his fellow firemen and many 
friends. He is survived by a widow, three children, his mother and three 
brothers, all of this city, and a sister, who lives in Washington, D.C.
The funeral will take place at 11 o'clock this morning from the residence and 
the services will be conducted by Rev. E. P. Miner, assistant rector of St. 
Luke's Episcopal Church.,
