Virginian-Pilot, December 23, 1910
The funeral of Samuel White, a member of the Norfolk fire department, was held 
from his late residence, 115 Fenchurch Street, at 11 o'clock a.m. yesterday and 
was numerously attended. A large delegation of his fellow firemen, under 
command of Chief McLaughlin of the fire department, attended the obsequies as a 
mark of esteem to his memory.

The following members of the fire department were the pall-bearers: Captain 
George W Bunting, Edward L Gills, Charles A Howe, W E Ritter, Dempsey Ball, Jr, 
George H Little, Edgar A Graham, Spencer A Rodgers, Allen and Joe Carthy.
