Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, February 19, 2002
NORFOLK - Charity White of the 800 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., died Feb. 
17, 2002. 

She was born in Sumerton, S.C., to the late Alice Lawyer and was the widow of 
Lee David White. She was a teacher at Norfolk Masjid Mosque and a member of 
masjid William Salaam Mosque. 

Survivors include two daughters, Alice Langley and Carrie Taylor; two sons, 
Roosevelt Canty and Alvin Canty; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. 

A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Riddick Funeral 
Service by Imam Vernon Fareed with burial in Calvary Cemetery . Family will 
receive friends at 1115 Jernigan Ave., Apt. D.
