White, and son of the late William H. and Sally Scott White, died yesterday morning at 9:55 o'clock at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, Va. He was a native and life‑long resident of Norfolk, residing at 608 [or 609?] River Avenue at the time of his death. Mr. White was a veteran of the Spanish‑American War. Besides his wife, Mrs. Susan E. White, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. B. G. Brigstock and Mrs. Logan Branham; three sons, William E., George N., and J. W. White; a number of grandchildren and one brother, Obe White, all of Norfolk. Services will be held at H. D. Oliver's funeral apartments, 610‑12 East Freemason Street, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Rev. E. P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, will officiate. __________________________________________________ Virginian‑Pilot & Norfolk Landmark, January 25, 1931 William Teagle White—Funeral services for Mr. White, whose death occurred Thursday at the Naval Hospital, Portsmouth, were held at 2:30 p.m. yesterday at H. D. Oliver's Funeral Apartments, 610‑12 East Freemason Street. The Rev. E. P. Miner, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, officiated. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. Military honors were accorded Mr. White who was a veteran of the Spanish‑American War, a volley being fired by a firing squad, and a bugler sounding "Taps" at the grave. The casket was covered with clusters of carnations, sweet peas, dahlias, and ferns. Pallbearers were W. A. Seddinger, Walter C. Joynes, J. W. Foxwell, Lee Shaffer, W. H. Bailey, and H. R. Bell.
