She was taken to King's Daughters' Hospital, where she died at midnight. R.H. Bunting, 18 years old, living at Getty's Station, said by the police to have been the driver of the car which struck Mrs. White, was arrested on a charge of assault with an automobile and was bailed for his appearance in Police Court this morning. According to the report given to the police, Mrs. White stepped out from behind an east bound Suffolk bus and was struck by the machine driven by Bunting, which was westbound in County Street. *************************************************************** The coroner yesterday viewed the body of Mrs. Jessie Belle White, 52 years old, 2948 County Street, who died last Thursday night in King's Daughters' Hospital, following an accident on the Portsmouth-Suffolk Boulevard Thursday afternoon in which she was struck by an automobile. He did not deem an inquest necessary. The body was removed to Mrs. White's late residence. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Mrs. White was the widow of John White and is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Daniel E. Edwards, of Cradock; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Llewellyn, of Dobson, N.C. and two brothers, John Waugh, of Indiana and Luther Waugh, of Dobson, N.C. She also leaves two grandchildren. R.H. Bunting, 18 years old, alleged to have been the driver of the car which struck Mrs. White, was yesterday bailed in the Police Court for his appearance, January 20, in answer to a charge of murder. Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 13, 1923 ****************** Mrs. Jessie Belle White, widow of John White, who died last Thursday following an automobile accident on the Portsmouth-Suffolk Boulevard, was buried yesterday afternoon in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. The funeral service was conducted in the residence, 2498 County Street, at 3 o'clock. Rev. R.W. Cousar, pastor of the Cradock Methodist Church, officiated. The pallbearers were as follows: Carl Schogren, Z.R. Zartman, H. McDonald, J.E. Lemkey, Fred Walker and C.M. Daffy.
