Virginian Pilot May 17, 1962
Mrs. Annie Mae Rhodes White, 83, widow of Bentley Edward White and daughter of 
Jesse McCoy and Mrs. Mary Guthrie
Rhodes, died in a Norfolk hospital Wednesday at 8:05 p.m. after a long 
illness. She is survived by a son, Henry Rhodes Bateman; a granddaughter, Miss 
Elizabeth Morgan Bateman; and a grandson, Henry Rhodes Bateman Jr., all of 
Yorktown. A native of New Bern, N.C., she lived in Norfolk most of her life. 
The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery 
for a funeral service Friday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Hugh M. Burleigh of
Epworth Methodist Church of which Mrs. White was a member 65 years.
