Norfolk - Final rites were held Thursday at Queen Street Baptist Church for 
Thomas R. Whitehead, of 305 W. 28th street.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery 
under direction of Hale Funeral Home.

A native of Magnolia, NC, and a member of Queen Street Church, Mr. Whitehead 
served as night watchman at the Flatiron Building for 40 years.

His survivors are his wife, Mrs. Florence Whitehead;  a  daughter, Miss Ruth 
Whitehead of Burkeville;  a son, James Whitehead of Norfolk;  a sister, Miss 
Lillie Joyner of Rocky Mount, NC;  and a brother, Luther Whitehead of 
Petersburg.
