The Virginia Pilot Friday September 16, 1960
Mrs. Lillian Flora Whitehead, 71, widow of Lloyd Guy Whitehead, daughter of John 
A. and Mrs. Mary Ellen Flora and a lifelong resident of Norfolk County died 
Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at her home, Route 1, Hickory.
Mrs. Whitehead was a member of National Council Daughters of America, Council 5, 
and Pocahontas Council 36.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd Guy Whitehead of Portsmouth, John Edward 
Whitehead of Boston and Joseph Albert Whitehead of Norfolk; one brother, Jacob 
E. Flora of Hickory and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home Saturday 
at 2 p.m. by the Rev. William R. Smith, pastor of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  The family will be at the home of Mr. and 
Mrs. Joseph A. Whitehead, 8041 Honeygrove Road, Aragona Village.
