The Virginian Pilot December 6, 1957
Wilson Leonard Whitehurst, 74,son of James and Elizabeth Morris Whitehurst, 
died at the residence, 424 Westover Ave., Apt. 3, yesterday at 8:45 a.m. after 
an illness of three months.
He was a native of Princess Anne County and had been a resident of Norfolk for 
71 years. He was a member of the Freemason Street Baptist Church. For 30 years, 
he was with the Old Dominion Tobacco Co., retiring in 1952.
Mr. Whitehurst is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina Scanlan Whitehurst; one 
sister, Miss Ella M. Whitehurst of Norfolk and a brother, D. Brooks Whitehurst 
of Wytheville.
The body was remove to the Cox Funeral Home, where funeral services will be 
conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Harold A. Malmborg, pastor of 
Freemason Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
