She was the widow of John T. Whitehurst and was born in Elizabeth City, N.C. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Mary Wood Whitehurst, an instructor in Hollins College, and a number of nephews and nieces. Mrs. Whitehurst recently went to El Paso to visit relatives after having spent some time with her daughter. She suffered a broken hip in a fall about a week ago, but was believed to be on the way to recovery. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night. ******************************** Mrs. Annie Wood Whitehurst - Funeral services for Mrs. Whitehurst, who died at El Paso, Tex., Wednesday, will be conducted at the residence of Mrs Elizabeth Martin, 1122 Westover avenue, tomorrow at 12 o'clock, noon. The Rev. T. Claggett Skinner, D.D. pastor of Lynchburg Baptist Church, and the Rev. Sparks W. Melton, D.D., of Freemason Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery.
