Robt. B. Pegram, on East Main Street. Mr. Whitehurst was born in Princess Anne County in 1825, and was, consequently, in the 53d year of his age. He was brought up from a small boy by Mrs. Leigh, the mother of our esteemed townsman, Jas. Y. Leigh, Esq., and had been a resident of Norfolk about forty years. He was at one time a prominent merchant, but did not succeed as such, and afterward engaging in the banking business, accumulated wealth in that pursuit. He was a man of excellent business habits, and in private life was liberal, charitable and kind hearted, and will be sadly missed by a large circle of friends. He was the victim of that dreadful disease, consumption, and had suffered from it for many years. His funeral will take place from St. Paul's Church at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
