WHITEHURST Mrs. Ella Stanhope Whitehurst, wife of George R. Whitehurst, died at 11:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the family residence, 824 N. Marshall avenue. She was 59 years old. Mrs. Whitehurst was a native and life long resident of Norfolk and was well known and esteemed. She was a member of the Cumberland Street Methodist church. Mrs. Whitehurst had been in failing health for some time, but her death was unexpected. Besides her husband, Mrs. Whitehurst is survived by three sons, Llewellyn, Calvert S. and George R. Whitehurst, Jr., all of Norfolk; one daughter, Miss Jane L. Whitehurst of Norfolk and one brother, J.B. Llewellyn of New York. The funeral will be held privately at the residence at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dr. J.A. Thomas of the Cumberland Street Methodist church. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.
