Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark Friday October 18, 1912
Miss Etta V. Whitehurst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Whitehurst, died 
yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock after an illness of more than a month.  In 
addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, C.L. Whitehurst.
Considerable effort was made to save her life but without avail.  She was a member 
of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church and was well known and respected.  She was in 
the twenty-first year of her age.
The funeral will be conducted at the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church Sunday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Rev. Dr. Swope, pastor of Central Baptist Church, will 
officiate and the interment will be in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
