New Journal and Guide, December 23, 1922
Mr. Moses Whitehurst, formerly of Norfolk, died at his home in Brooklyn, New York, 
where he had resided for the past eight years, November 24th, 1922. His funeral 
was held from the first Baptist Church this city Tuesday, November 27th. Rev. R.H. 
Bowling officiating. His remains were laid to rest in Calvary cemetery with 
Pythian honors. The deceases leaves to mourn their loss four daughters, and one 
niece.
