Whitehurst, of Norfolk county, whose sad demise occurred at St. Vincent's Hospital last Thursday night, were held from Oaklette M.E. Church in the county at 10 o'clock Sunday morning,in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing friends and relatives. Rev. J.W. Baker, the pastor and a warm friend of the deceased, conducted the service. There were a large number of beautiful floral tributes, one of them a design of a pillow, a gift from the church, of which for many years Mr. Whitehurst was an honored and useful member. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, this city. Following were the pallbearers: Honorary - Messrs. A.J. Newton, J.B. Dowdy, J.P. Paxton and J.T. Dowdy, stewards of the church, who occupied seats in the chancel during the service. Active - Messrs. J.Z. Lowe, B.F. Wilson, P. Bonney, Hugh Drummond,D. Etheridge, Wilson Selden, J. B. Ferratt and B. F.
