Whitehurst, died at her home, 110 North Park Avenue, Brambleton, at 1:30 o'clock yesterday after an illness of two weeks in the 85th year of the age. The deceased was a native of Princess Anne County, where she resided until about 7 years ago, when she moved to Norfolk, where she had since resided. She was a women of most exemplary Christian character, having been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church for over fifty years, holding her membership through all these years with Salem M.E. Church, Princess Anne County, never changing it and coming to Norfolk. She is survived by five children, four sons and one daughter, John, A, E.L., G.E. and A.H. Whitehurst and Mrs. Luther Miller, all of Norfolk. The funeral will be held from the residence Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. W. G. Starr, D. D. of the Cumberland Street Methodist Church. The interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
