The Virginian Pilot Thursday February 8, 1985
Horace Allen Whitehurst Sr. of 2239 Harrell Ave., a native of Norfolk, died
Tuesday in a hospital.

Mr. Whitehurst had retired in 1964 as a merchant seaman after 26 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia W. Simmons of Virginia Beach and
Sheila Davis of New York;  a son, Horace A. Whitehurst Jr. of Norfolk;  and
seven grandchildren.

Then funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in Hale Funeral Chapel by the
Rev. E. Ray Cox.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence.
