Norfolk Virginian Pilot, Friday, July 15,1938
William Walter Whitehurst, aged 63, of 825 Clay avenue, Brambleton, died
yesterday morning at 12:30 o'clock in a local hospital after a brief illness. 
He is a native of Princess Anne County and had made his home in Norfolk the past
12 years.  Mr. Whitehurst was the son of the late William O. and Virginia Butt
Whitehurst and widower of Annie Virginia Butt Whitehurst.  He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. E. R. Hassell;  four sons, Odie, Raymond, Everett and James
Whitehurst, of Princess Anne County, and three grandchildren.  He was a veteran
of the Spanish-American War.

The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, Jackson and Jefferson streets,
South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3
o'clock.  Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park.
