Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 11, 1915

Miss Bessie Taylor Whitehurst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Whitehurst, 
died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the residence, 20 Luxembourg Avenue, 
Lafayette Park, after a lingering illness, aged 24 years. Besides her parents, 
she is survived by three sisters, the Misses Gracie, Sallie and Georgie 
Whitehurst. Miss Whitehurst was very popular and highly esteemed by all who knew 
her. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.

WHITEHURST - At the residence, No. 20 Luxembourg Avenue, Lafayette Residence 
Park, Wednesday, November 10, 1915, at 3:30 o'clock p.m., BESSIE TAYLOR, 
daughter of George L. and Sarah A. Whitehurst, in the 25th year of her age.
Funeral services at the above residence FRIDAY AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock. Friends 
of the family are invited to attend.

The funeral of Miss Bessie Taylor Whitehurst took place at 3 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon at the residence, Lafayette Residence Park and was well attended. 
Victor de Murgiondo, of the Christian Science Church, conducted the services. 
There were many flowers. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery and the pallbearers 
were M.N. Whitehurst, Joseph Baecher, O.J. Egerton, Marshall Coker, E.L. 
Hargrove, G.N. King.
