Virginian-Pilot, January 5, 1907
Mrs. Catherine Whitehurst died yesterday morning at 1 o'clock at her home, 45 C
Clifton Street, after an illness of several months. The deceased was a native o
of Princess Anne County, Va., but had been a resident of Berkley and Norfolk f
for more than thirty years. She was 72 years old and a member of Memorial M. E. C
Church.
She leaves several sons and daughters, among whom is Mrs. Harrison H. Butler, 
of Suffolk, Va. Rev. and Mrs. Butler arrived here Thursday night and were with 
Mrs. Whitehurst when she died.
The funeral will take place at the grave in Magnolia Cemetery this morning at 
11 o'clock, with the Rev. C. L. Bane, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church 
officiating.
