Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 9, 1992

Roland Whitfield, of 400 block of Fenchurch St., a retired machinist, died 
Nov. 5, 1992, in a hospital.
Mr. Whitfield was born in Norfolk. He had retired from M&B Co.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa M. Whitfield; two daughters, Viva Whitfield 
and Dawn Whitfield, both of Norfolk; two sons, Roland Whitfield Jr. of 
Richmond and Curtis Whitfield of Norfolk; four sisters, Dorothy Carroll, 
Joyce Carroll, Sylvia Carroll and Joanne Carroll, all of Norfolk; and five 
brothers, John Whitfield of New York, Melvin Osborne, Elliott Whitfield, 
Leon Carroll and Jerry Carroll, all of Norfolk.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Magnolia 
Cemetery by the Rev. J.L. Kearney. Friends may join the family at the 
graveside. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
