Norfolk - Leon M. Whitfield, 42, a Norfolk Naval Air Station employee for 20
years and a veteran of World War II, received final rites Sunday at St. Mark's
Church. He died Nov 19 in Kecoughtan Veterans Hospital.

The Rev. Oliver Allen officiated at the service. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Morning Glory Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Mr. Whitfield, who lived at 838 Godfrey avenue, was a native of Norfolk.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alma Whitfield; four sons, Linwood Thompson,
Arthur and Wesley Whitfield and Leon N. Jones; two sisters, Mrs. Zudora Harris
of New York and Mrs. Ruth Martin of Norfolk; and a brother, Hugh Whitfield of
Portsmouth.
