NORFOLK - Mrs. Ruth Whiting of 890 Johnson Ave. died Wednesday at 2:05 p.m. in a 
hospital after a short illness. She was the widow of Charles Whiting.

A native of Norfolk, she was daughter of Mrs. Ida M. D. McManning of Norfolk and 
the late Willian H. Dunning.

She formerly taught school in Norfolk, Princess Anne County, and Gloucester. She 
was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, and its Helper Club, and 
Hospitality committee.

Besides her mother, surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thelma V. Johnson of Chicago 
and Mrs. Ethel Davis of Hampton.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
