Whiting, died at her home, 834 Raleigh avenue, yesterday morning at 6:30 o'clock, aged 89 years. She was the widow of Clarence Douthat Whiting, of Gloucester County and Norfolk, and only daughter of the late Capt. Wilson Malbon (C.S.A.) and Mary Bright Bonney, of Princess Anne County. She had lived in Norfolk for the past 70 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John W. Stoakley and Mrs. Samuel W. McGann, two granddaughters, Mrs. Henry J. Lankford, of Norfolk, ad Mrs. Robert M. Minto, of Penang, Malaya, and three grandsons, John W. Stoakley, S. McGann Stoakley, and Samuel W. McGann, Jr., all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held at the above residence, Monday, April 26, at a.m., with the Rev. Thomas A. Smoot, D.D., pastor of Epworth M.E. Church, of which Mrs. Whiting was a member, and the Rev. E. Ruffin Jones, D.D., rector of St. Andrew's Church, officiating. The burial will be private in Elmwood Cemetery.
