Virginian Pilot July 2, 1910
WHITLEY - At the residence of her husband, J.T. Whitley, in Lafayette Avenue, 
Oakdale, last evening at 8:45 o'clock, NANCY E. WHITLEY, aged 64 years.
Funeral from the South Norfolk Baptist Church SUNDAY AFTERNOON at 4 o'clock.  
Interment in Magnolia Cemetery.

                   MRS. NANCY E. WHITLEY DEAD
Mrs. Nancy E. Whitley, wife of J.T. Whitley, died last evening at 8:45 o'clock 
at the family residence, Lafayette avenue, Oakdale, after an illness of several 
months, which terminated in paralysis.  She was a native of North Carolina and 
in addition to a husband she is survived by seven children, as follows:  Mrs. 
Bessie Umphlett, J.P., W.C., H.C. and LeRoy Whitley, Mrs. Lila Green, Miss 
Nannie S. Whitley.  The deceased was one of the best known ladies in South 
Norfolk, where she has resided many years.
The funeral will be conducted from the South Norfolk Baptist Church Sunday 
afternoon at 4 o'clock by the pastor.  The interment will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
