Norfolk - Funeral services for Fleetwood Whitley of 40 Republic avenue were held
at Riddick Funeral Chapel August 8 with the Rev. C. E. Griffin, pastor of First
Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Whitley, a native of Elizabeth City, NC, was the son of the late Bennie and
Mrs. Eliza Whitley and the husband of the late Mrs. Mabel Whitley. He worked for
the General Amusement Company. He died Aug. 8 in a hospital after a short illness.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Courtney Ruth Patton of Brooklyn; two brothers
Willie Whitley of State Island, NY, and Howard Whitley of Elizabeth City; and a
sister, Mrs. Pauline White of Norfolk.
