A native of Norwood, N.C., he had resided in Norfolk since 1919, when he began his association with the Belt Line. He was a member of Industry Council 1, Order Fraternal Americans. He was a son of Mrs. Ida Maner Whitlock, of Norwood, and the late John Whitlock. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church and of the Wesleymen's Bible Class of the church for 25 years. Besides his mother, surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sadie Holland Whitlock, and one daughter, Miss Shirley Anne Whitlock, both of Norfolk, and two sisters, Mrs. R.N. Taylor, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Mrs. Frank Conrad, of Lexington, S.C. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. at the Cox Funeral Home by the Rev. Edgar Potts, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
